Pharmacist

Join our team as an experienced Pharmacist with a passion for helping our retail customers take charge and manage or improve their health. You will also handle our facilities residents and ensure their well-being while providing medication.

Job Summary

As a pharmacist, you will review prescriptions, check patient files for possible drug interactions, dispense prescribed medication, and answer patient questions about prescribed and over-the-counter medications and their use. When necessary, you will also collaborate and advise health practitioners on drug dosage and selection. Our ideal candidate has at least two years of retail pharmacy experience.

Essential Job Functions
  • Prepare and dispense medications with precision and care, providing patients with comprehensive guidance and counseling on their pharmaceutical treatments.
  • Review all physician orders for appropriateness.
  • Supervise and manage pharmacy operations, ensuring accurate drug labeling, storage, and utilization in adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to healthcare professionals, answering queries, and offering recommendations on drug therapies and dosages.
  • Train and develop pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals, fostering a knowledgeable and proficient team.
  • Safeguard patient well-being by complying with infection control procedures and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.
  • Stay updated and enhance pharmacological knowledge through continuous education and active participation in professional networks and workshops.
  • Collaborate within the team to achieve collective goals and ensure efficient pharmaceutical services.
  • Follow all facility policies and conform to regulations and law regarding medications.

Working Conditions
  • Lift and carry weights of 50 pounds or more as needed.
  • Engage in constant physical activities like standing, walking, bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Sharp visual acuity for precise and accurate work.
  • Close-range visual ability to discern details.
  • Aural clarity to comprehend detailed oral information, even from individuals with speech impairments.
  • Safety-sensitive role according to A.R.S. 23-493.

Required Education and Experience
  • Registered pharmacist degree prior to January 1, 2003; or Doctor of Pharmacy degree after January 1, 2003.
  • Licensed with the AZ Board of Pharmacy.
  • Licensed with Drug Enforcement Agency.
  • Minimum of 30 continuing education hours every 2 years.
  • General record keeping and assisting the public.

Special Job Requirements
  • Obtain/maintain Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Card at employee's expense.
  • Complete annual Tuberculosis Testing.
  • Complete in-service training as required.
  • Mandated federal, state, and local communicable disease testing as required.
