Full Job Description

As we scale, we are hiring a People Operations Lead to design and operate the infrastructure required to hire, develop, and support exceptional individuals in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

About the Role

This is a high-impact, high-ownership role at the center of the company's people function. You will own core people operations while helping build the systems, processes, analytics, and programs that support hiring, onboarding, employee experience, talent development, and organizational scale.

You will work directly with leadership, partner closely with hiring managers, and help shape how a high-performance, talent-dense organization hires, develops, and supports its people.

We are looking for someone who combines operational excellence, strong judgment, analytical ability, and a genuine interest in building. The right person is comfortable operating hands-on while designing processes that will scale with the company.

What You'll Do

HR Operations & People Infrastructure
  • Own and improve core people processes, including employee records, onboarding, offboarding, compliance documentation, benefits administration, and HR systems.
  • Build and refine scalable people operations infrastructure, including workflows, policies, templates, documentation, reporting routines, and process controls.
  • Manage HR vendors, benefits partners, systems providers, and external advisors.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline operational workflows.

Recruiting, Onboarding & Employee Experience
  • Support and improve recruiting execution for highly selective technical, research, and engineering roles.
  • Partner with hiring managers to coordinate interview processes, candidate communication, scheduling, feedback collection, and offer-stage logistics.
  • Help create a polished, thoughtful candidate experience that reflects the firm's standards.
  • Build and refine onboarding programs that help new hires become productive, connected, and well-supported quickly.

Talent Development & People Programs
  • Support the design and execution of performance management, feedback, and review processes.
  • Build and refine structured talent development programs, learning initiatives, growth planning, and review cycle operations.
  • Partner with leadership to improve how the firm supports employee growth, performance, and long-term development.

People Analytics & Business Operations
  • Build and maintain people analytics, dashboards, trackers, and reporting related to hiring, headcount, retention, engagement, performance cycles, and organizational planning.
  • Translate people data into clear, useful insights for leadership and managers.
  • Contribute to selected cross-functional business operations projects as the company scales.

Who You Are

You are organized, detail-oriented, and highly reliable, with strong judgment and discretion. You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-performance environment and can move between structured execution and ambiguous problem-solving. You are equally comfortable working with people and working with data.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of experience in HR, people operations, recruiting, talent development, operations, consulting, finance, analytics, or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills; comfortable working with spreadsheets, dashboards, reporting, and structured problem-solving
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Interest in building HR and people infrastructure in a high-performance investment, research, technology, or startup environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail, strong follow-through, and sound judgment
  • Ability to handle confidential employee, candidate, compensation, and business information with discretion
  • Comfortable supporting both people-related work and broader business operations projects
  • Familiarity with an ATS such as Greenhouse is a plus
  • Knowledge of HR systems such as Rippling or similar platforms is a plus
  • HR certifications are a plus

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this role is $120,000-$200,000, plus discretionary bonus and benefits. Compensation is determined based on experience and scope of responsibility.
