Pediatric Neuroradiologist Regular Full Time or Part-Time Position Department of Radiology BC Children's Hospital Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada BC Children's Hospital
(BCCH) is seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time Pediatric Neuroradiologist or combined Pediatric Neuroradiologist / Pediatric Radiologist to join the Department of Radiology.
The successful applicant will join our team of 16 Pediatric and Interventional Radiologists delivering imaging services at the BC Children's Hospital, a 220-bed tertiary and quaternary care hospital serving British Columbia's children and families; we also deliver imaging consulting services to the entire province of British Columbia. The radiology department is located within the Teck Acute Care Centre, which opened in October 2017. We are equipped with state-of-the-art 3T and 1.5T MRI, dual-source high-pitch CT, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, fluoroscopy, radiography and angiography/IR systems.
Our Neuroradiology service currently consists of four current full- and part-time staff who provide daily coverage for neuroimaging. An applicant who is a dedicated neuroradiologist will be expected to contribute to that service full-time, while one with general pediatric diagnostic radiology experience will also have the opportunity to cover other anatomic- and modality-based services, like Body Imaging or Ultrasound. Our current service is a mix of both types of radiologists.
Teaching and clinical research are integral parts of the role. The
BCCH Department of Radiology is affiliated with the University of British Columbia and offers both residency and fellowship training in Pediatric Radiology, and staff are expected to supervise and teach these trainees. Applicants should demonstrate strong communication skills and aspire to advance academic radiology. Academic time is supported for research and educational activities. The successful applicant will be recommended for clinical faculty appointment to the University of British Columbia. Academic rank, dependent on qualifications, will be conferred by the Department of Radiology of the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Medicine.
The Department is committed to supporting and maintaining a positive work-life balance for its medical staff. Applications from those who seek part-time work are welcome, and a number of our existing staff work part-time to increase time with their families and quality of life.
Applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in the Province of British Columbia, have or be eligible for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Diagnostic Radiology, and have completed a recognized fellowship in Neuroradiology with additional training or clinical experience in Pediatric Neuroradiology. Completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Radiology is desirable, but not required.
Applications, accompanied by a cover letter, detailed curriculum vitae, and teaching dossier, should be directed to:
