Description

This cardiologist will work primarily at Johns Hopkins Children's Center main campus.

The candidate must hold an MD/DO degree (or equivalent), be board-certified or board-eligible in pediatric cardiology, and hold or be eligible for a Maryland physician license.

Candidates must have completed residency & fellowship training with additional training and/or extensive experience in pediatric and congenital cross-sectional imaging.

Clinical activities will include performing cardiac MRI and CT studies and may also include working in the pediatric cardiology echocardiography laboratory, outpatient clinics, and inpatient rotation. Teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows and performing academic projects, such as original research or QI will be expected. On call duties for inpatient cardiology and non-invasive imaging will be required. Clinical activities of this faculty member will be at the full-time instructor/assistant/associate/professor rank based on the experience of the candidate.

The Division of Pediatric Cardiology and the Blalock-Taussig-Thomas Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center deliver comprehensive, innovative and compassionate care from the fetal period through adulthood for patients with heart disease. The Division of Pediatric Cardiology currently has 13 full-time clinical faculty and 1 full-time research faculty, along with Pediatric Cardiology Fellows.

As the birthplace of pediatric cardiac surgery with the historic "blue baby" operation, Johns Hopkins has been at the forefront of caring for children and adults with congenital heart disease, including those with genetic conditions. Researchers in the division, collaborating with colleagues from throughout Johns Hopkins and across the world, are unraveling the mechanisms of childhood heart disease and developing innovative treatments for these disorders. The Johns Hopkins Hospital strengthened its commitment to pediatric excellence with the opening of The Charlotte R. Bloomberg Children's Center in 2012, including 205 beds, state-of-the-art cardiac operating rooms, pediatric and neonatal intensive care units, cardiac catheterization suites and cardiac imaging facilities, and a hybrid catheterization suite with cardiopulmonary bypass capacity is under construction.
