  • Prepare and present Excel reports on payroll adjustments for HR and management.
  • Coordinate with HR for updates in employee payroll information and ensure paperwork accuracy.
  • Conduct payroll data analysis and security maintenance for confidential information.

Full Job Description

Assist in the mechanisms to support accurate and timely employee payment and maintenance of records. This includes processing payroll, as well as maintaining employee data, handling payroll questions and completing any other tasks necessary for monitoring and overseeing a company's payroll process and ensuring employees are compensated correctly and on time. She/he coordinates with HR and Management about changes in payroll, such as corrections, terminations and new hires. The Payroll Coordinator is a liaison to the human resources department and the accounting department as it corresponds to payroll operations.

Essential Duties

  • 1. Process hospital biweekly Kronos timesheets in accordance with Wage and Hours and company policies and procedures.
  • 2. Process all prior pay period adjustments including overpayments
  • 3. Enter all off-cycle checks in Kronos historical
  • 4. Process other financial compensations or deductions (e.g. bonuses, LOA supplemental pay, merit retro payments)
  • 5. Communicate with hospital staff regarding payroll processing as it relates to union contracts
  • 6. Answer employees, mangers, directors questions or complaints about salaries and payments
  • 7. Prepare excel spreadsheets for HR on all off cycle checks containing absence hours usage
  • 8. Coordinate with HR about changes in employee’s payroll information
  • 9. Check payroll information for accuracy and ensure all relevant paperwork is in order
  • 10. Produce reports for upper management upon request
  • 11. Work with authorities (UPC) on audits or requests
  • 12. Perform analysis of payroll information.
  • 13. Responsible for maintaining security of information: e.g. salary, staff and legal information in a confidential nature.
  • 14. Maintain established hospital and regulatory requirements and records.
  • 15. Calculate employee termination checks and work closely with University Payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of final payments.
  • 16. Performs other payroll related duties and assists with other projects as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Req High School or equivalent
  • Pref Associate’s Degree In a related field
  • Or equivalent experience to substitute Associate's education.
  • Req 1 year 1-3 years of hospital payroll background or proven experience as a payroll coordinator or similar role.
  • Req Knowledge/comfortable with Excel, processing timesheets, processing payroll adjustments, and strong communication skills.
  • Req Attention to detail and outstanding analytical and numerical skills.
  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)



The hourly rate range for this position is $34.32 - $56.19.
