About the Role
- The Payroll, Benefits & HRIS Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of payroll, employee benefits, and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), with a strong emphasis on ADP Workforce Now solutions. This role serves as the internal subject matter expert for ADP modules, reporting, employee data management, compliance, and benefits administration.
- Working within a private equity-backed environment, this position will also support the organization as it grows and evolves, ensuring payroll, benefits, HR systems, and employee data can effectively scale with the business. Prior M&A experience is important to support future acquisitions and integrations as needed.
Essential Functions
- Process multi-state payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Maintain payroll records and employee data within ADP.
- Audit payroll transactions for accuracy, including earnings, deductions, taxes, garnishments, and direct deposits.
- Reconcile payroll reports and general ledger entries.
- Assist with year-end payroll processing, including W-2 preparation and payroll audits.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations.
- Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, FSA/HSA, and retirement plans.
- Manage new hire enrollments, life event changes, and annual open enrollment processes.
- Serve as the primary contact for employee benefit inquiries.
- Coordinate eligibility tracking, carrier communications, and invoice reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable benefits regulations, including ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.

- Develop, maintain, and distribute HR, payroll, benefits, and compliance reports.
- Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with ADP support when necessary.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation and system enhancements.
- Ensure HR systems, workflows, and processes are scalable and can effectively support organizational growth and change.
- Support HRIS and employee data activities related to organizational growth, acquisitions, and integrations as needed.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Maintain personnel files and HR records.
- Support employee relations, policy administration, and HR compliance initiatives.
- Assist with performance management and employee engagement programs.
- Participate in HR projects, audits, and organizational initiatives, including integration activities associated with acquisitions when applicable.
- Provide support during regulatory and compliance audits.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of payroll, benefits, and HRIS administration experience.
- Advanced hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now and related ADP modules required.
- Experience processing payroll for a multi-state workforce.
- Experience with benefits administration and HR compliance.
- Experience working within a private equity-backed organization required.
- Experience supporting HR, payroll, benefits, or HRIS activities related to mergers, acquisitions, or organizational integrations required.
- Experience supporting HR operations within a growing, scaling, or rapidly changing organization.

- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)

Travel
