Payloads Design Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level)
Position Responsibilities:
- Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
- Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
- Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
- Assists with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
- Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
- Works under general supervision
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
- 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): - 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- Experience with Payloads/Interior commodities and systems
- Experience in aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to think out-of-the-box, flexibility and openness to new ideas and concepts; speak up within group settings and strong technical presentation skills
- Ability to collaborate and work with cross functional teams
- Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience
- Working knowledge of ETAC, CATIA V5, ENOVIA, PDM, REDARS and IVT is desired
- Working knowledge of Boeing processes including CR/CNs, PRRs, SRPs, COSPs
- Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and critical thinking

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range Associate (Level 2): $96,300 - $117,700
Summary pay range Mid- level (Level 3): $117,900 - $144,100
