Position Title:Patient Safety Program Manager

Position Overview: Responsible for serving as a liaison with and overseeing enterprise patient safety activities, projects, and programs.
How you will make an impact:- Leading patient safety initiatives and workstreams that support the identification, measurement, and reduction of preventable harm; ensuring integration of patient safety priorities into broader business processes; and coordinating activities across organizational priorities and defined patient safety pillars.
- Works with clinical, analytic, operational, provider, compliance, legal, and vendor stakeholders to design and implement patient safety initiatives and interventions. Coordinates complex workstreams involving detection methodologies, data integration, provider engagement, policy implementation, intervention programs, external partnerships, and performance monitoring. Ensures that study methodology is sound and appropriate reporting is in place
- Develops and oversees implementation plans and patient safety improvement activities designed to improve the quality and safety of care for members
- Assures compliance with applicable governance, regulatory, accreditation, and corporate requirements
- Assures that patient safety activities are relevant to the needs of targeted populations and aligned with enterprise priorities
- Maintains effective documentation of patient safety programs and initiatives to meet regulatory and accreditation standards
- Provides oversight to assure accurate and complete quantitative analysis of clinical and operational data and presentation of results
- Oversees implementation of new initiatives and monitors performance against established objectives and measures
- Leads interactions with regulators, oversight entities, external partners, and key stakeholders as appropriate
- Contributes to the development and execution of enterprise patient safety strategies and supports continuous improvement efforts across patient safety programs
Minimum Qualifications: - Requires a BS in health administration, nursing, public health, health informatics, clinical sciences, or a related healthcare field; 6 years of healthcare quality improvement, patient safety, program management, healthcare analytics, healthcare policy, managed care, or related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences: - Project management experience preferred
- Current unrestricted license, certification in applicable field (i.e., CPHQ), and/or an MS in a health-related field (i.e., Nursing) preferred
- Claims system experience preferred
- Experience with CMS Patient Safety programs (HAC Reduction) preferred
- Knowledge of AHRQ Patient Safety Indicators strongly preferred
- Experience in Surgical environment is nice to have
- Experience in Pharmacy environment nice to have
- Maternal clinical experience nice to have
- Familiarity with Leapfrog Group safety measures preferred
- Strong skills in data-driven quality improvement, trend analysis, and translating safety data into system-level action
For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $81,624 to $154,656
