About this roleWe are looking for a Senior Funds Attorney (Partner / Of Counsel level) with 10-15+ years of experience in private fund formation to join a collaborative, boutique firm and help scale a growing funds practice. What will you be doing?- Independently leading and executing private fund formations from inception through closing
- Supporting and expanding capacity for an existing client base that is at capacity
- Advising fund sponsors, emerging managers, and institutional investors on fund structuring, governance, and regulatory matters
- Collaborating closely with the firm's corporate, debt, and international teams on cross-practice matters
- Helping shape the long-term strategy and growth of the funds practice
Key Requirements- 10-15+ years of investment funds experience at a large or mid-sized law firm (big law background required)
- Ability to run fund formations independently with limited supervision - must be technically excellent and execution-ready
- J.D. and admission to at least one U.S. state bar (NY preferred)
- No more than ~1 year of in-house experience (longer in-house stints are disqualifying)
- Ideally brings 1-2 client relationships (not required if exceptionally strong technically)
