Chipton-Ross is seeking a Packaging Engineering Specialist (Level 3) for a contract opportunity in Swedesboro, NJ.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESUnder general supervision and direction, establishes and provides written justification to evaluate equipment features and determines the most cost-effective option. Coordinates and provides property controls and enters into calibration cycle through metrology departments to maintain accuracy of the equipment. Following approval, submits request and justification in accordance with company procedures or policy. Assists equipment procurement by researching and investigating the requirements/applications for material handling equipment to improve capabilities in order to evaluate quotations from potential suppliers of equipment. Processes billing and cost charge, and prepare budget and justification for equipment. Under general supervision, maximizes efficiencies and implements improvements for cost effective worldwide distribution and storage by considering practical packaging and/or handling applications. Provides logistics support analysis by applying established company policies and procedures in accordance with domestic and international laws. Develops warehousing material flow, equipment layout, and capital budget to store assembly and support materials. Assists in calculating volume, storage requirements, quantity and type of storage and handling equipment needed for high efficiency, low-cost warehouse operations. Under general supervision, maintains employee awareness for hazardous materials general familiarization, function specific, and safety requirements by providing walk-through support to meet federal and international regulations. Oversees the training and compliance for the implementation of HM-232 (Hazardous Materials Security Plans) for the receiving, storing and shipping of hazardous materials (dangerous goods). Under general supervision, evaluates, classifies and develops packaging instructions for hazardous materials. Plans the markings, labeling, packaging, and documentation for shipments in compliance with Federal, State, and international regulations.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONSome college or Bachelors in a Technical field.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
WORK HOURSFULL TIME/FIRST SHIFT; 7:00 AM - 4:00 PMADDITIONAL INFORMATION - Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
