Job Description

Duties:

The Oracle/SQL Database Administrator supports the Program Manager in Navy's Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) system engineering, analysis, IA, requirements development, system administration, and software installation. The Database Administrator will:
  • Support deployed applications that support a suite of US Navy maintenance software applications.
  • Focus on assuring high availability and optimizing efficiency to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage databases: Performance, Administration, and Recovery.
  • Develop and adhere to a robust set of maintenance/health tasks in order to anticipate, prevent, or detect and resolve problems.
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering and Production Operations to understand new features to be released and how that will affect the current capacity.
  • Collect and analyze Oracle and SQL Server metrics to understand future infrastructure and licensing capacity needed to maintain highest operational up time and support.
  • Manage AWS cloud engineering through each phase of the given system and process, from plan along with expansion to validation and operation, on measurable risk assessment, regularly concentrating on continuous integration, performance, configuration management, Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGGING and scheduling.

Qualifications/Education:
  • BS in Engineering, Physics, Network Security, Information Systems or Computer Science. Experience may be concurrent. Advanced degrees substitute for experience as follows: MS two (2) years of experience.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Six (6) years of experience in US Navy maintenance, logistics, and business system projects to include: Engineering, Systems Analysis, Information Assurance, Requirements Analysis, .Net development, SQL/Oracle Database Administration, Software Installation, System Administration, Release management and System Architecture support.
  • Three (3) years of technical experience, including AWS cloud engineering, in support of US Navy Systems in the maintenance and sustainment phase of the lifecycle.

Clearance: Secret.
