We have the need for an
Oracle Database Administrator to support our critical client, the US Postal Service, within the Delivery Technology department of the Engineering organization in Merrifield, VA.
Functional Responsibility:- Design and Implement Data Solution to meet the existing system requirement (Oracle RDBMS 19c) of Data Integrity, Security, Efficiency, Maintainability, Interoperability and Extensibility.
- Analyze and Model system data requirement and produce logical design of properly normalized database schemas to balance conflicting requirements for Oracle RDBMS 19c.
- Work with Sysadmin to produce and implement the physical design of the database, placement, multiplexing, partitioning.
- Serving as the Oracle Data Solution Expert to advise the development team through the entire life cycle of system development.
- Advise the development team for solutions of complicated access path / query, primary key, foreign key, unique key relationship, view and materialized view.
- Installation and configuration, upgrading and patching of the Oracle Database System, 19c.
- System Capacity Planning, proactively monitor and anticipate the growth of system load and provide recommendation on system resource procurement.
- Performance Analysis and Optimization, identify performance issue and provide recommendation to solve Oracle performance issue.
- Troubleshooting system issue by working with sysadmin, network admin and development team to identify and locate issue properly.
- Design and Implement Data Loading, Import and Export, Transformation.
- Design and Implement High Availability solution with RAC and Data Guard.
- Design and Implement Recovery Solution with RMAN
- Typically reports to the team lead of the development group.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in area of specialty
- 8+ years of Oracle RDBMS Admin experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be familiar with Oracle Relational Database Analysis and Design.
- Must be familiar with Oracle Relational Normalizing / De-normalizing for High Performance System.
- Must be familiar with Oracle Index Tuning / Analysis.
- Must be familiar with Oracle RDBMS 19c.
- Must be familiar with SQL DML/DDL.
- Experienced on RDBMS Performance Analysis and Optimization, SGA/PGA, REDO/UNDO, Partitioning.
- Experienced on OLTP / OLAP System Tuning.
- Experienced on Ad-hoc Reporting.
- Experienced on DTL / DLT Data Loading, import/export.
- Familiar with Query Troubleshooting, Execution Plan Analysis and Optimization.
- Familiar with System Capacity Planning.
- To be able to demonstrate current work is a plus.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check & drug test.
