Job Summary The Oracle EBS Database Administrator will lead and support technical upgrade activities as part of an Oracle EBS migration from Release 12.1.3 to 12.2.14 or the latest applicable release. The role requires strong Oracle Database Administration expertise and hands-on experience executing EBS technical upgrades, along with working-level knowledge of Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Financials modules to support upgrade, retrofit, testing, and troubleshooting activities. The DBA will work across database, application, integration, functional, development, and infrastructure teams throughout the upgrade lifecycle, including assessment, build, testing, cutover, and hypercare. Key Responsibilities • Lead the end-to-end technical execution of the Oracle EBS upgrade from Release 12.1.3 to 12.2.14 or the latest applicable release, including pre-upgrade readiness assessments, upgrade execution, and post-upgrade validation. • Implement and configure Online Patching (ADOP) architecture as part of the Oracle EBS 12.2 upgrade. • Perform database-level installation, patching, cloning, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and capacity planning across Production, Test, and Development environments. • Support the upgrade and configuration of dependent components, including BI Publisher, Oracle APEX, and Enterprise Command Center (ECC) foundation. • Coordinate and execute CEMLI (Configuration, Extension, Modification, Localization, Integration) retrofit activities from a technical and database perspective in partnership with functional and development teams. • Establish and validate performance baselines before and after the upgrade using industry-standard performance testing tools. • Implement security hardening measures, including data encryption, Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPUs), and database failover configurations such as Data Guard or RAC, as applicable. • Support Single Sign-On (SSO) and Identity and Access Management (IAM) integration activities from a database and technical infrastructure perspective. • Collaborate with functional teams supporting Financials and SCM modules to understand module dependencies and troubleshoot upgrade-related technical issues. • Participate in functional, regression, integration, and performance testing cycles while providing technical support and defect resolution. • Support Hypercare and post-go-live stabilization activities. • Maintain detailed technical documentation, including upgrade runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge transfer materials. Required Qualifications • 8-10 years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience. • At least one full-cycle Oracle EBS technical upgrade from R12.1.x to R12.2.x, with experience with R12.2.14 or the latest release strongly preferred. • Strong working knowledge of Oracle EBS 12.2 architecture, including Online Patching (ADOP), WebLogic Server (WLS), and dual file system concepts. • Proficiency in Oracle Database Administration, including Oracle 11g, 12c, and 19c as applicable, with experience in installation, patching, performance tuning, RMAN backup and recovery, and troubleshooting. • Practical working-level understanding of Oracle EBS SCM modules, including Order Management, Procurement, Inventory, and Financials. • Experience with BI Publisher upgrade and configuration and Oracle APEX installation. • Familiarity with Oracle Application Management Suite/Pack (AMS/AMP) for monitoring and incident management. • Experience applying Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPUs) and implementing general database security hardening practices. • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across database, application, and integration layers. Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience with SSO and IAM integration for Oracle EBS. • Experience supporting global, multi-ledger, and multi-site EBS environments. • Familiarity with Oracle Unified Method (OUM) or a similar structured upgrade or implementation methodology. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical details into business-relevant impact for functional and business stakeholders. • Ability to work effectively in a structured, phase-gated delivery environment covering Assessment, Build, Test, Cutover, and Hypercare. • Strong collaboration skills across DBA, functional, development, and infrastructure teams. • Technical/DBA-level familiarity with SCM and Financials modules, including understanding of data flows, dependencies, and upgrade impact, rather than functional configuration.
