Oracle Database Administrator (Performance Tuning)
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week)
We're seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator with a strong focus on database performance tuning, scripting, and automation to support mission-critical enterprise database environments. This is an opportunity to work with large-scale Oracle platforms while helping drive modernization initiatives, including migration to Oracle Exadata and cloud-based infrastructure.

What You'll Do
  • Administer and support Oracle database environments running Oracle 19c
  • Diagnose and resolve database performance issues through SQL tuning, execution plan analysis, trace file analysis, indexing strategies, and query optimization
  • Develop automation solutions using Korn Shell (KSH), Shell scripting, PL/SQL, and SQL to streamline database operations
  • Perform database maintenance activities including patching, upgrades, cloning, backup, recovery, and migrations
  • Support Oracle RAC environments and participate in ongoing migration efforts to Oracle Exadata
  • Configure and support Oracle GoldenGate for data replication
  • Monitor database health, availability, and performance while responding to production incidents and operational requests
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and engineering teams to improve reliability and operational efficiency
  • Support both on-premises and cloud-hosted Oracle database environments
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience
  • Strong experience administering Oracle 19c databases
  • Advanced SQL and PL/SQL skills
  • Proven experience with SQL performance tuning, execution plans, SQL trace analysis, and database optimization
  • Strong Linux administration experience
  • Hands-on scripting experience using Korn Shell (KSH) or Shell scripting for automation
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Oracle RAC administration
  • Oracle Exadata experience
  • Oracle GoldenGate
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager
  • Python scripting
  • Experience supporting Oracle databases in cloud environments (OCI, AWS, or Azure)
  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM platforms
  • Knowledge of Oracle ZFS and Oracle Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA)
