About This Role:The
Oracle Cloud Applications Manager owns the health, security, and technical delivery of Hunter's Oracle Cloud platforms - Financials, Supply Chain, Warehouse and Transportation Management, and Customer Experience. This role sets technical direction for the platform roadmap, holds a seat on the Architecture Review Board, and is the accountable owner of the Oracle release lifecycle, from adoption decision through production deployment. It combines people leadership with hands-on technical ownership across team and partner delivery, application architecture, release management, and application controls and audit readiness - leading a team of engineers, analysts, and specialists across San Marcos CA and Tijuana Mexico, and directing the day-to-day work of Hunter's Oracle managed service partner.
Essential Functions:- Leads the Oracle platform team across HQ and Mexico locations, including work assignment, performance management, coaching, and capability development; is responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and other people leadership activities.
- Directs day-to-day operational execution of the Oracle managed service partner: work direction, ticket prioritization, release calendar commitments, and Tier 3 escalation.
- Owns Tier 2 technical support outcomes for Oracle platforms, including triage quality, on-call coverage, and resolution performance against published service levels.
- Serves as incident commander for Oracle application platform incidents and ensures post-incident reviews are completed within five business days for Severity 1 and 2 events.
- Owns Oracle application-domain architecture, including platform roadmap, extension and configuration patterns, and integration design, authored within enterprise standards and ratified through the Architecture Review Board.
- Represents Oracle platforms at the Architecture Review Board and prepares submission packages for initiatives meeting ARB entry criteria.
- Applies a standardize-first principle: evaluates customization and aPaaS extension requests against configuration alternatives, and documents the business justification and long-term support cost for any approved exception.
- Owns the end-to-end Oracle release lifecycle as a single accountable function, from Product Manager adoption decision through build, test, Change Approval Board approval, and production deployment.
- Manages the Oracle vendor release calendar, ensuring regression coverage and qualification of vendor-executed pretesting are complete before CAB submission.
- Manages change success and rollback performance across Oracle platform deployments.
- Owns application-layer controls for Oracle platforms, including user access, segregation of duties, and change control, operating within the identity and access policy set by Security Operations.
- Owns Oracle application security and cloud console configuration as a delegated accountability, assigning execution to engineering and managed service resources while retaining approval authority for role, privilege, and environment changes.
- Produces control evidence and audit responses for Oracle platforms in coordination with Security Operations (GRC), Internal Audit, and external certification bodies.
- Partners with Product Managers and Business Process Owners on demand shaping, backlog feasibility, effort estimation, and service level commitments.
- Supports cost-to-serve reporting for Oracle platform services and contributes to annual planning, capability assessment, and succession identification for critical technical roles.
Education/Training Required and Preferred:- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
Experience Required and Preferred:- Minimum eight years of enterprise application experience supporting ERP platforms, including three years of supervisory experience.
- Hands-on Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications experience across at least two module families (Financials, SCM, WMS/OTM, CX), including at least one full-lifecycle Oracle Cloud implementation and demonstrated ownership of release and change management in a governed production environment.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Oracle application role/security administration experience required.
- Experience in a global manufacturing or distribution environment preferred.
- ISO, SOX, or equivalent audit exposure preferred.
- Experience transitioning a platform from systems integrator hypercare into steady-state internal support preferred.
What You Bring:- Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud application architecture, configuration versus extension patterns, and the SaaS and aPaaS extension model, sufficient to set technical direction and review designs produced by internal engineers and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to operate release and change governance at enterprise scale, including quarterly vendor release cycles, regression coverage, change record quality, and rollback readiness.
- Working knowledge of application-layer controls, including role design, segregation of duties, and change control, with the ability to produce evidence that withstands external audit.
- Ability to direct managed service partner execution to committed outcomes, maintaining a clear distinction between operational work direction and commercial contract management.
- Ability to lead, coach, and develop technical staff across multiple locations and time zones, including team members based in Mexico.
- Well disciplined, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work within a fluid environment and manage multiple timelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey technical information in non-technical terms.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with the end user community, department, and company employees.
