Job DescriptionThis position will be located at the Louisville, KY site and hybrid work will be considered.
This role will support all Weapon Systems programs across the Louisville, KY; Maple Grove, MN; and Aberdeen, SD sites. As a Proposal and Strategy OPM, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of proposals and Basis of Estimate for Government and Prime contracts, ensuring compliance, and driving business growth. This role will also support overall weapon systems strategy elements in areas of manufacturing site selection and analysis, capital planning and inputs, strategic make/buy decisions, and long-term site capacity analysis.
In this role, you will:
- Support the Operations portion of proposals, including proposal kickoff, estimating, Fact Finding, BOE development, and supporting the broader proposal teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute proposal strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs
- Analyze and interpret complex data to inform proposal decisions, utilizing intermediate MS Excel skills to drive insights and recommendations
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including customers, program managers, and team members, to convey complex technical information and proposal status
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple deadlines to meet proposal submission requirements
- Provide support for proposal development, including data gathering, analysis, and documentation
- Setup and conduct operations leadership reviews and support LCMS reviews necessary for proposals
- Provide strategic technical direction and guidance on complex projects, influencing technical decisions and ensuring alignment with business goals
- Identify new or additional equipment needs related to existing or new product manufacture
- Perform strategic analysis for determining manufacturing site selection and long-term site capacity analysis
- Support new product transition to production planning
Required Skills and Education- B.S. degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline
- 10+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to plan, execute, and manage complex projects, ensuring they are completed successfully on-time and with high-quality results
- Strong problem-solving, priority setting, team engagement, communication, and project management skills
- Proficiency of MS Office Suite products (SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
- Intermediate MS Excel skills, including data analysis and visualization
- Experience with proposals, including Basis of Estimate development
Preferred Skills and Education- 10+ years experience in a Defense manufacturing environment
- Experience with MRP type systems and shop floor data collection
- Excellent time management, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Directing the creation of ROM's, BOE and quoting of equipment & tooling
- Professional Certifications (PMP, CQE, Six Sigma, ISO, Problem Solving, etc.).
- Experience in value stream mapping, Visio, and the layout of production operations
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Knowledge of defense contracting and proposal development processes
