Work Arrangement: At Office / Facility

Department: FSJ Central Operations Function

Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is recruiting for an Operator to join the Fort St. John location, which is part of the Transportation, Liquids and Fractionation Asset Team. Based out of the Fort St. John office, reporting to the Central Area Foreman, this role is part of a team responsible for the safe and reliable operation of a network of liquids pipelines and associated infrastructure across North Eastern British Columbia. These assets transport crude oil, condensate, and natural gas liquids across key regions of Western Canada.

The Operator plays a critical role in supporting day-to-day field operations, including monitoring pipeline performance, conducting site inspections, responding to operational issues, and maintaining the integrity of pipeline systems. This work directly contributes to the safe, efficient, and reliable movement of product across the Fort St. John area, supporting continuity of service to customers and overall operational performance.

This role offers the opportunity to work a consistent schedule in a dynamic field environment while developing technical and operational expertise.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Demonstrate Pembina's values of Safe, Trustworthy, Respectful, Collaborative and Entrepreneurial through day-to-day work;
  • Ensure all operations duties are completed safely, in compliance with Pembina's procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;
  • Conduct field inspections in support of safe and reliable day-to-day pipeline operations such as, meter verifications, meter proving, product quality sampling, facility inspections, pipeline integrity and pigging activities;
  • Perform routine pipeline operations tasks, including troubleshooting of pump stations, block valves, and electrical and mechanical equipment;
  • Participate in a rotating weekly on-call rotation, responding to after-hours operational issues;
  • Participate in and provide onsite direction, training, and mentorship for the team;
  • Consistently demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset, identifying safe, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions to operational issues;
  • Complete periodic reviews of tasks and ensure procedures remain current and assist in developing site-specific procedures and Task Hazard Analyses (THA's);
  • Organize and manage contractors as required;
  • Support and participate in community engagement activities;
  • Contribute to an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace; and
  • Demonstrate learning agility by adapting to new equipment, technologies, and processes, and applying learnings to evolving operational challenges.


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, participation in safety programs and contribution to positive safety culture;
  • Previous, progressive operational experience in pipeline and/or midstream facilities with a strong understanding of facility and/or pipeline operations;
  • Experience using a Maintenance Management system, and/or SAP systems;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering drawings;
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface positively with local communities and internal teams;
  • Strong organizational, time management, and leadership skills;
  • Demonstrated learning agility, including the ability to quickly adapt to new information, systems, and operational requirements while applying past experience to new situations;
  • Technical certifications and/or journeyman tickets are considered an asset; and
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.


This position is considered "Safety Sensitive" and will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. You will also be required to provide a Driver's Abstract. And the successful candidate must live within 100 km of Fort St John, BC.

Pay Transparency Requirement: The base salary range for this position is $81,700 CAD to $111,000 CAD. Actual total compensation may differ based on candidate's qualifications and location.
