Position: Operations Supervisor

Location of work: 80 Stafford Drive, Brampton, Ontario L6W 1L4

Terms of employment: Permanent Full time (Onsite)

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week

Wage range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually

Compensation subject to annual review and increase based on inflation, cost of living, merit and performance. Compensation offered may vary depending on the applicant's level of experience, qualifications and other factors. Potential for discretionary annual bonus.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Facility Manager, the position of Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing daily manufacturing operations, focusing on safety, quality, efficiency and continuous improvement within the assigned area. The position is also responsible for providing leadership to production teams, ensuring all safety protocols and quality standards are met and optimizing operational effectiveness through Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Additional responsibilities include scheduling, maintenance coordination, training and accurate data entry into manufacturing systems.

Job Duties
  • Supervise day-to-day operations to ensure safe, efficient execution of production and logistics workflows.
  • Coordinate scheduling to minimize detention and storage costs while maintaining compliance.
  • Provide technical guidance to staff on using automated tools, databases, and compliance systems.
  • Lead container grading, certification, and serial number traceability for all shipments.
  • Maintain real-time inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure strict compliance with policies and procedures specifically with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, including WHMIS, OSHA, and other regional standards.
  • Verify and maintain shipping documentation (packing slips, bills of lading, custom paperwork).
  • Oversee chemical container handling, labeling, container acceptance policy and storage practices to meet hazardous material regulations.
  • Lead and oversee the full lifecycle management of industrial totes, including inbound receipt, grading, and quality checks, while enforcing strict procedures such as photographic documentation and serial number tracking.
  • Maintain and update a centralized asset tracking database, performs weekly reconciliation of physical totes against system records, and ensures full traceability for audits and operational reporting.
  • Implement process automation to standardize workflows and improve productivity
  • Oversee and optimize complex operational databases with automated updates and real time reporting capabilities
  • Oversee and sustain an automated chemical inventory system with integrated tracking retest dates, classifications, and regulatory compliance details.
  • Oversee inbound tote and customer databases integrated with label systems for full traceability.
  • Ensure smooth operation automation systems to ensure data accuracy, scalability, and operational stability.
  • Implement audit-ready version control for all documentation and reporting systems.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and audits to maintain compliance across the logistics operations and warehouse facilities.
  • Follow and update safety procedures, hazard assessments, and SOPs for warehouse and production operations.
  • Co -train staff with facility manager on proper use of PPE, emergency response procedures, and chemical spill management.
  • Monitor and document workplace incidents, near misses, and corrective actions to drive a zero-incident safety culture.
  • Collaborate with external regulatory bodies for audits, inspections, and compliance reporting.

Experience/Skills and other requirements
  • Diploma in business, supply chain, production or manufacturing management or related field
  • 1+ years' experience in the container reconditioning industry.
  • Proven knowledge of Transport Canada Regulations and CGSB standards.
  • Experience with hazard waste handling and disposition.
  • Familiar with Dangerous Goods Marks and Classes Description
  • Working knowledge of Ontario Regulation 347 - Waste Classification, General Waste Management, Storage, Transportation and Disposal
  • Prior work experience in a facility governed by on Ontario MECP Waste and Air Environmental Compliance Approval
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office including Excel VBA Scripting knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of Python Automation, Power BI and Power Automate.
  • Experience in implementing and auditing safety programs required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act in Ontario.
  • Strong communication skills including written, verbal, listening and presentation
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and attention to detail.
