Job Overview:As the Operations Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in facilitating the operations of a job shop facility. This position entails directing shop mechanics, assemblers and technicians, contributing to meeting the organization's financial goals, and assuming a leadership role within the management team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Demonstrate leadership by effectively communicating business goals, programs, and processes for the area or business segment.
- Utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for yourself and others, and contribute to both short-term and long-term business goals.
- Maintain care, custody, control, and safe operation and maintenance of the shop, equipment, and staff.
- Establish and uphold a culture that promotes a safe and positive work environment, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement procedures and systems to ensure the safe and effective operation and maintenance of the shop by personnel.
- Manage the annual budget and monitor shop expenditures appropriately.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate an effective workforce, delegating and monitoring work activities for safe and efficient facility operation.
- Oversee the hiring, evaluation, and work activities of contractors/subcontractors for maintenance and repair activities.
- Collaborate with sales teams to develop commercial strategies and solutions that meet customer requirements and business goals.
- Achieve revenue, profitability, utilization, and budget targets.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college preferred, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of experience in a support or field engineering role.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a management role, with 2-5 years of experience in General Operations Support, Machine Shop Management, or Operations Management.
- Additional experience in industrial/utility/power plant systems preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence others, lead small teams, and identify individual strengths to maximize team performance.
- Effective problem identification and solution skills.
- SAP experience strongly preferred
