Job Description

Position Objective

As a Staff Program Manager in the Transplant Diagnostics division, you will play a pivotal role in managing projects that drive strategic operational initiatives to improve manufacturing performance, supply chain resilience, product transfer readiness, and organizational execution across the product lifecycle. You will accomplish this by applying best practices and tools in program management with the goal of delivering outcomes within the agreed-upon scope, schedule, and resources. This includes ensuring design control, compliance with regulatory guidelines, and long-term product manufacturability. Through your work, you will contribute to improving the quality of life for individuals facing transplantation, while supporting Thermo Fisher Scientific's mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

Location: onsite West Hills, CA

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional project core teams, conduct regular project meetings, capture action items, supervise assigned deliverables, develop and maintain project schedules, and provide updates and reports to senior leadership.
  • Work closely with Operations teams (including Manufacturing Sciences, Manufacturing Operations, and Supply Chain), R&D, Product Management, Quality, Regulatory, and other functional partners to drive operational improvements and establish scalable mechanisms.
  • Maintain clear communication lines across all teams and stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and achievements to executives, while resolving barriers to execution and facilitating decision making to ensure timely completion.
  • Identify potential risks and issues, and develop effective mitigation strategies to maintain compliance, product quality, and project execution.
  • Identify and champion opportunities for improvement in day-to-day processes, operating mechanisms, metrics, and procedures.


Education and Experience
  • University degree (Bachelor's or Master's degree), preferably in life sciences or engineering
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams without direct authority
  • 5 years of combined experience in Operations management and project management for medical device development and production highly preferred, including supply chain planning, supplier management, manufacturing operations, and process validation
  • Experience in navigating ISO9001 and ISO13485 standards, SAP, Lean methodologies, Six Sigma, and Microsoft Project are beneficial.
  • PMP certification is a plus.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated excellence in project management, including timeline adherence, deliverable tracking, and proactive risk management. Capable of managing competing priorities while balancing business objectives, regulatory requirements, and customer needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across a matrixed organization, gain broad cross-functional alignment, and foster change management.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentation skills, capable of effectively articulating sophisticated concepts and ideas to broad audiences, including executives.
  • Self-motivated, curious, and proactive with the ability to be highly resourceful.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.


Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $113,500.00-$170,200.00.
