Job DescriptionJob SummaryAs the senior manager on shift (one per shift) in the American Centrifuge Plant, the Operations Shift Supervisor represents the General Manager, American Centrifuge Plant Operations and has the authority and responsibility to make decisions, as necessary, to ensure safe operations. The Operations Shift Supervisors are responsible for accumulation and dissemination of information regarding plant activities to the Incident Commander during emergencies. The Operations Shift Supervisors are also responsible for directing the operation of systems, components and personnel within the facilities necessary to support enrichment operation. The Operations Shift Supervisors authorize the restart of equipment that has been shut down in a routine fashion when the prerequisites and limitations of the associated operating procedure are met. The Operations Shift Supervisor is responsible for providing operational support of centrifuge machine assembly, transport, installation, pump down, integrated system testing, start-up, operation and select repair. The Operations Shift Supervisors also direct the operation of systems with the American Centrifuge Plant, necessary to support the American Centrifuge operation.
What You Will Be Doing You'll lead and energize a team by scheduling and guiding personnel through equipment monitoring, data collection, and system operations-all while keeping everything compliant, safe, and well-documented. You'll direct plant operations in any condition, issue work permits, ensure qualified staffing, and coordinate seamlessly with service and construction groups. Your role includes hands-on testing, training employees, managing materials, resolving deficiencies, and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace. You'll operate advanced plant control systems and help shape the future by developing and validating test plans, procedures, and technical documents. With a strong commitment to inclusion, safety, and company standards, you'll keep operations running smoothly while driving continuous improvement and excellence.
We'd Love to Hear from People With- Associate degree in Manufacturing/Chemical/Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of industrial/chemical/nuclear plant operations, maintenance, engineering, or support experience
- Previous supervisory/leadership experience or completion of a supervisory training course
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a "Q" Clearance.
A Successful Candidate Brings- Active "Q" or Top Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing/Chemical/Engineering or related field.
Pay:Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $76,010 - $126,683. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.
