Job SummaryThis position will support efforts for FAA's scheduling and staffing systems, ensuring compliance and robust security across cloud-based and on-premise systems. This role supports the Resource Optimization Division (ALA-100) in maintaining the integrity and security of critical tools and staffing models. The selected candidate will mathematically formulate the staffing problem(s) and use a solver like CPLEX to find an optimal or near-optimal staffing plan. Operations research, industrial engineering, or analytics modeling experience is required.
Years of Relevant ExperienceThe position requires 15+ equivalent years of experience in government cybersecurity management. Specific experience with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is required. A Master's degree or Ph.D. may count for additional years of experience.
Essential Job FunctionsIndividuals will assist in the efficient and effective operation of the program office, the individual's activities include but are not limited to:
- Update and create Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation to support FAA's ATO processes.
- Conduct security scans, manage vulnerability remediation, and maintain accurate system inventories.
- Liaise with FAA System Security Officers and Domain SMEs to ensure compliance with security requirements.
- Oversee vulnerability assessments, privacy impact evaluations, and security posture monitoring.
- Provide recommendations for improving the FAA's IT security architecture.
- Use Cumulative Functions to model complex resource capacity for ensuring staff, scheduling, and resources"
- "Linear and Integer programming for mid-size to large data sets
- Understand staffing rules and constraints
- Translate the problem into equations or decision variables
- Use CPLEX, Python optimization libraries, or similar tools
Education RequirementsBachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, Math, Operations Research, or Finance.
Master's degree a plus.
Skills Required- High level of proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project and other MS Office Products.
- Strong analytical background and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Extensive experience in cybersecurity and A&A processes.
- Deep knowledge of vulnerability scanning tools and cybersecurity frameworks.
- Strong understanding of cloud security and data protection strategies.
- Python/R/Excel Solver/CPLEX/Gurobi experience
- Experience with Workforce Planning tools, optimization modeling and advanced analytics.
Skills Desired- Knowledge of FAA NAS systems, investment analysis, solution development & implementation
- Experience managing client relationships
