Job Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for the success of assigned functions within the distribution center, ensuring all key metrics are met, supporting company policies, procedures and safety while creating an inclusive high performance culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop front-line managers to drive the effective execution of daily distribution center operations
  • Monitor Key Performance Indicators and operational metrics to drive performance improvements and cost reductions.
  • Serves as a role model by living the company's core values, which positively influences the performance of others.
  • Foster effective cross-functional partnerships at all levels within the distribution center and company, ensuring seamless communication with corporate and external vendor resources.
  • Develop direct report leadership through mentoring, and training, and fostering a global perspective by optimizing cross-functional performance.
  • Optimize staff performance by utilizing productivity metrics and observational data to ensure accountability and development.
  • Manage staffing, supply and equipment needs based on forecasted volumes and ensuring established policies and procedures are followed.
  • Champion continuous process improvement and associate engagement through enhanced operational efficiency, planning, and resource allocation.
  • Foster a climate of openness, trust, and mutual respect for all associates.
  • Execute assigned operational tasks to meet or exceed KPIs while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date SOPs for all functional areas. Review and approve process modifications to enhance efficiency and safety involving relevant stakeholders.
  • Drive the efficient execution of all training and cross-training plans, ensuring on-time achievement of scheduled milestones.
  • Establish efficient and standardized workflows, ensuring accurate execution of work objectives across the team.
  • Foster effective cross-functional partnerships with support departments at all levels within the distribution center and network.
  • ensure all processes and functions lead to accurate inventory management.
  • Develop strategic business acumen by accurately identifying problems, analyzing data, and implementing fact-based solutions.
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed to maintain a safe work environment.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $130,000 - $149,500 depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Inaddition, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits to Associates (and their families) such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability. Eligible Associates are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan. Associates will accrue paid time off up to 200 hours per year (inclusive of PTO, floating holidays, and paid holidays). Paid sick time up to 80 hours per year unless otherwise required by law.

Requirements

Job Qualifications - Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Operations or Operations Management preferred
  • Master's Degree in Business or Operations Management a plus
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a big box, high volume distribution center environment
  • 8+ years of experience in lieu of Degree
  • Must be highly organized, able to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and capacity to take on large areas
  • Possess a high degree of analytical skills
  • Excel at working and leading in a team environment
  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and written at all levels of management
  • Proficient with all aspects of Operations Management, techniques and principles
  • Possess mid to high level computer skills
