Overview

NexGen is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee all Steel field operations Nationwide.

This pivotal role entails direct supervision over our General Superintendents across various domains, including Place and Finish, Field Engineering, and Project Execution sectors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction science, construction management, engineering, or related field from an accredited college or university and 6 years of experience, or 10 years of construction related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Self-perform experience is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in Procore
  • Proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Projects, or similar scheduling software
  • Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.

What we expect... (Essential Functions)
  • Plan and review compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures
  • Conduct basic contract review
  • Possess financial acumen on both projects and corporate basis.
  • Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances; initiating corrective actions for the corporate office and executive operations
  • Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout; implement changes
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, reporting, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
  • Onboarding introductions to new hires, safety debrief, etc.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Meet or exceed operations labor budget for the corporate office
  • Manage staff levels, wages, hours, contract labor to revenues for the corporate office management staff
  • Run a safe, injury/accident free workplace
  • Manage relationships with key operations vendors
  • Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints
  • Work closely with management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation.
  • Communicate all operating policies and/or issues at department meetings
  • Organize and manage schedules for the executive team
  • Screen and prepare correspondence and presentations for the executive teams
  • Prepare travel arrangements for the executive team
  • Coordinate business engagements and morale events for the corporate staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
