Full Job Description
Scope of Work
Some leaders manage projects. You'll shape a business. As our Electrical Operations Manager, you're the driving force behind an entire location - accountable for its profitability and long-range growth while meeting corporate objectives. This isn't a role where you wait for direction; it's where you set it. You'll provide leadership for the location, build teamwork across every department, and lead project meetings. And you'll be at the table with owners, architects, engineers, trade contractors, and vendors who make the work happen.

Responsibilities
You'll own your location's performance goals and shape the short- and long-range objectives behind the Company's strategic plan. You'll lead multiple projects at once, providing on-site supervision of general superintendents, field supervisors, crew leaders, journeypersons, and apprentices. You'll lay out project work and keep materials, tools, equipment, and information on schedule to meet every deadline. You'll review plans and specifications, direct construction activities, resolve obstacles, coordinate installations and closeouts, and build lasting client relationships - all within project cost, time, and quality standards.

Position Requirements
The real work is bigger than any single project. In this role, you will:
  • Set the strategy - building annual operating budgets, staffing plans, marketing plans, and capital expenditures, and spotting the market opportunities that define your location's next chapter.
  • Develop the people - coaching, motivating, and retaining your team through clear expectations and honest, unbiased performance appraisals, and guiding them through the obstacles that surface on complex builds.
  • Oversee training across construction, safety, estimating, quality control, loss prevention, project management, and business management.
  • Protect the standard - inspecting projects to verify scope, specs, company standards, and compliance with local and National Electric Codes, and documenting accurately to protect the Company.
  • Own the numbers - driving timely billing, invoice approvals, and regular review of job cost, reports, and project history.
  • Keep leadership informed - conferring weekly with the COO and raising significant issues before they become problems.
  • Grow the business - cultivating new clients and deepening existing relationships through public relations and active involvement in professional, trade-related organizations.
  • Set the example - modeling work practices others will emulate, leading through change, and capturing every "lessons learned" at project closeout.
  • Utilize Company estimating programs for change orders and estimates, stay sharp through ongoing training, and maintain the confidentiality of all information.

License Requirement: Only in states where required.
Education: Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Construction Management (or related degree) or equivalent studies/experience.
