Job Description

Position Summary
BAE Systems is seeking a proven leader to drive the Electrical & Instrument Services Department toward operational excellence. The successful candidate will combine technical expertise in electrical construction and industrial instrumentation with a strong commitment to customer service and team development. You will be responsible for supervising trade personnel and ensuring the reliability of critical production and utility equipment within the HSAAP facility.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Direct daily operations for a team of electricians and control systems technicians, ensuring high-quality maintenance services across assigned facility areas.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide expert guidance for the troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of production and utility equipment.
  • Project Support: Collaborate with engineers and project managers during the design, installation, commissioning, and check-out phases of new projects.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to maximize workgroup efficiency, reduce operating costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties
  • Workforce Management: Prioritize corrective and preventive maintenance requests to meet contract requirements; develop daily schedules and assign tasks to work crews.
  • Field Supervision: Provide direct on-site support and technical guidance to ensure work is performed safely and accurately.
  • Resource Planning: Assist crews in evaluating maintenance requests, determining material requirements, and managing procurement and stock levels.
  • Asset Reliability: Recommend and implement optimized preventive maintenance strategies for new and existing equipment.
  • Talent Development: Foster a culture of growth by identifying training opportunities and assigning challenging tasks to develop team skillsets.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with department management, government customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Compliance & Quality: Lead incident investigations (Root Cause Analysis), support internal and government audits, and ensure strict adherence to OSHA, Plant Protection Standards, and company policies.
  • Performance Management: Conduct periodic employee performance reviews and ensure compliance with business and safety regulations.


Required Skills and Education

Qualifications
  • Education: Associate degree in a related technical field (Electrical or Electromechanical Technology preferred) and/or an equivalent combination of education and professional work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of combined experience in industrial maintenance, construction, or engineering.
  • Leadership: Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Industry Background: Prior work experience in a chemical or hazardous material production facility is strongly desired.
  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC), industrial instrumentation, and OSHA regulations.
  • Availability: Willingness to support plant operations during after-hours emergency situations.
