Who You Are

BMP Doors, located in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, is looking for a Operations Manager. We specialize in manufacturing, selling, and assisting in a variety of high-performance high-speed doors.

What You'll Do

General Duties and Responsibilities:
• Achieve the required company quality standards ensuring both internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Using lean manufacturing, strive to exceed the company targets in productivity, efficiency, and quality on a continuous basis.
• Ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are monitored, and targets achieved.
• Ensure safe working practices are maintained and "Standard Operations" adhered to.
• Ensure that non-conformance is challenged, and countermeasures are agreed and implemented.
• Oversee support functions concerning production planning and resource/skill allocation to ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specifications.
• Support the implementation of engineering changes, production trials, model change and pilot build.
• Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes.
• Full understanding of customer expectations and deliverables with an awareness of the impact of failure/cost of poor quality.
• Promote Total Productive Maintenance procedures to further improve the availability of the line. Work with maintenance technicians regarding plant or machinery breakdowns.
• Contribute to the improvement of working procedures by constantly looking for solutions to ensure the best productivity results and ensuring compliance with procedures, operating procedures, and work instructions.
• Support the resolution of customer concerns. Identify and eliminate root causes using robust countermeasures. Sustain corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues.
• Ensure that internal delivery processes are adhered to, support dispatch time windows.
• Ensure all external and internal auditory standards and improvement requirements are met.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Directly supervises 4 employees and indirectly 20+ within various departments.
• Lead by example, ensuring a safe and efficient workplace is always maintained.
• Motivate the team to create a high-performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced. Utilize interpersonal styles, setting objectives and defining responsibilities to give a clear sense of direction.
• Sustain and develop team working and team-based problem solving.
• Communicate with the team by utilizing visual management, delivering shift briefs with focus on quality, cost, delivery, and gathering ideas for improvement.
• Manage team members, giving direction and feedback to aid good performance.
• Ability to build effective relationships with work colleagues.

What You Bring

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in Business Management or related field.
• Computer skills required: Contract Management Systems; Development Software; Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite; Project Management Software

Other skills required:
• Experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment (hands-on proven track record in metal fabrication).
• Knowledge and understanding of lean techniques.
• Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).
• Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
• Technically competent, quick study, and excellent communication/people skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and able to establish logical practical solutions.
