Position Summary:The Operations Manager oversees and manages daily manufacturing operations within an aerospace production environment manufacturing quartz MEMS (QMEMS), ensuring products are built safely, efficiently, and to stringent quality standards. This role focuses on operational excellence, continuous improvement, resource planning, and leading cross-functional teams to meet customer, regulatory, and organizational requirements and will be instrumental in driving yield improvement within a highly complex operating environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage day-to-day production activities across assigned manufacturing areas and report daily through Business Unit Team meetings on shipments progress.
- Develop and manage staffing plans, shift schedules, labor allocation, and skills training.
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, regulations, and certifications (such as AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Drive throughput, productivity, and cost improvements while maintaining quality and safety in alignment with Business Unit objectives.
- Implement and sustain productivity efforts, process optimization, and waste-reduction initiatives in support of annual plan CapEx and productivity targets and timelines.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management to support production readiness and resolve issues.
- Develop, implement, monitor, and adapt KPIs such as on-time delivery, scrap/rework, cycle time, customer satisfaction, safety metrics, and labor efficiency.
- In partnership with Quality, lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for production challenges, quality escapes, or process deviations.
- Manage production equipment, tooling needs, preventive maintenance priorities, and facility support requirements.
- Support development, planning, and execution for new product introductions, process changes, and technology upgrades.
- Prepare operations reports and present performance updates to leadership.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of supervision and or management experience in aerospace, defense, or complex precision electronics manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 aerospace or similar quality standards, production documentation, process controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, manage priorities, and solve problems in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to manage and analyze data to support strategic operational decisions.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. (U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident).
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Formal lean or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience with quartz-based MEMS or inertial sensor products (gyroscopes and accelerometers).
- Experience with cleanroom environments (ISO Class 5-8).
- Background in high-mix / low-volume aerospace production environments.

Salary:The position offers a salary range of $140 - $175K annually, depending on the candidate's experience, skill set, and overall qualifications.
