Full Job Description
The Team:

Upstart's Auto Title Administration team supports the Auto business by helping ensure liens and titles are processed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with operational and compliance requirements. The team plays an important role in protecting Upstart's collateral position while delivering the quality and turnaround times needed to support a growing Auto business.

As the Operations Manager you will lead a team of Title Administration Specialists responsible for lien perfection and title management. You'll own team performance and operational execution while identifying opportunities to improve processes, quality, and scalability as the business grows.

How you'll make an impact
  • Lead and develop a team of Title Administration Specialists,, setting clear performance expectations and driving consistent execution across productivity, quality, and turnaround-time goals.
  • Oversee lien perfection and title management operations, including aging and unresolved title exceptions, to support timely and accurate processing.
  • Use operational data and performance trends to identify root causes, prioritize opportunities, and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Strengthen operational controls and workflows to support consistent execution of state-specific, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner across Operations, Compliance, Product, Analytics, Workforce Management, and Training to resolve operational challenges and improve processes.
  • Use Generative AI and other available tools responsibly to accelerate analysis, documentation, knowledge management, and problem-solving while applying appropriate human review and judgment.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience directly managing a frontline operations team in a metrics-driven environment, including responsibility for employee performance and development.
  • Experience managing operational performance against measurable productivity, quality, or turnaround-time targets.
  • Experience using operational data and performance metrics to identify issues and implement process improvements.
  • Experience managing operational workflows subject to documented quality, compliance, or regulatory requirements.
  • Experience leading operational process changes from identification through implementation and measurement.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of auto title administration, lien perfection, title management, or related servicing operations.
  • Experience working in financial services, lending, fintech, or Auto operations.
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams such as Product, Analytics, Compliance, Training, or Workforce Management.
  • Knowledge of quality management, learning and development, compliance oversight, or operational process optimization.
  • Ability to use Generative AI tools to support operational analysis, process improvement, knowledge management, and team productivity while applying appropriate human judgment.

Position location This role is available in the following locations: Columbus, OH (Easton office)

Time zone requirements The team operates on the East coast time zone.

In-Office requirements. You will be required to work from the Easton office 2 days per week.

Travel requirements As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The in-person sessions' cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 2-4 consecutive days at a time.

At Upstart, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the below range. Your actual base pay will depend on your geographic location-with our "digital first" philosophy, Upstart uses compensation regions that vary depending on location. Individual pay is also determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

$79,000-$109,200 USD
