The Operations & Maintenance Program (OMP) is the Weapons Infrastructure Program Office (WIPO) element that oversees operations and maintenance of current LANL capabilities. The OMP delivers reliably available capabilities by funding effective operations and maintenance, typically in partnership with Facility Operations Divisions. The WIPO OMP provides the operations and maintenance funding of the Laboratory's nuclear, high explosive, and other specialized weapons facilities-and of their supporting infrastructure. This position will team with the OMP Director to provide leadership, vision, strategic and tactical planning, and overall direction for executing the WIPO Operations & Maintenance Program, which has both Laboratory-wide and NNSA complex-wide impact. As the Deputy Director, you will work with Director, WIPO leadership, and facilities operations leadership, to develop long-range operations and maintenance plans and associated budgets to ensure critical weapons facilities are ready to support current and future mission deliverables. Operations and Maintenance Management Knowledge of conduct of maintenance, conduct of engineering, conduct of operations and quality assurance programs. Experience with facility management and infrastructure programs, particularly in the areas of maintenance, construction, and project management. Knowledge of and experience with facility management to include systems engineering design and maintenance, safety/authorization basis, configuration management programs, work control, facility control systems, major construction projects, and upgrades and renovations. Knowledge of facility policies and procedures including government regulations affecting facility maintenance and management. General knowledge of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting facility maintenance and administration. Communication Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Clearance Ability to obtain DOE Q clearance. Education/Experience: Position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 15 years related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. Hybrid is defined as working partially onsite/partially offsite but within 2 hours ground commute of this location. All work locations are at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice. Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
