The Role

Job Overview:

The Operational Resilience Risk Manager supports the Firm's Operational Resilience Framework by executing and enhancing processes designed to identify, protect, respond to, and recover from actual or potential operational disruptions. The role evaluates whether critical business services can remain within defined impact tolerances through robust business continuity planning, disaster recovery capabilities, dependency mapping, and scenario testing. This includes assessing resilience across technology, data, personnel, and third-party dependencies to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and internal risk standards.

This role requires close coordination across Enterprise Risk Management, Technology, Operations, Compliance, and business stakeholders to maintain an integrated and enterprise-wide resilience posture. The candidate must be capable of operating independently within a Second Line of Defense model while providing structured oversight, credible challenge, and actionable reporting. Responsibilities may intersect with strategic initiatives, regulatory change, digital transformation efforts, and new product or platform implementations. Strong critical thinking, writing, presenting, and stakeholder management skills are essential. Given the dynamic nature of this role, curiosity to learn about all portions of the business and high responsiveness to internal and external events are extremely important.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Partner with business units and technology teams to guide development and maintenance of Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies, and Area Response Plans.
  • Deliver training and awareness sessions to strengthen accountability for resilience preparedness across the Firm.
  • Ensure program alignment with evolving regulatory guidance (eg. Reg S-P, DORA), supervisory expectations, industry standards (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST), internal risk appetite, and business strategy.

Business Impact Analysis, Testing, and Reporting
  • Conduct and maintain Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) within the Business Continuity Management (BCM) platform to identify Important Business Services and Critical Processes.
  • Map dependencies across technology, personnel, data, facilities, and third parties to assess operational interconnectivity and concentration risk.
  • Coordinate and document resilience testing activities, including enterprise tabletop exercises, business continuity tests, disaster recovery tests, and emergency notification exercises.
  • Document testing outcomes, identify control gaps, and track remediation efforts to closure.
  • Support fund board and executive management reporting and preparation of materials for governance committees, external assessments, and regulators.
  • Develop and maintain resilience metrics, dashboards, and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to provide transparency into operational risk exposure.

Crisis Management, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence
  • Support oversight of Crisis Management and Incident Response across the firm.
  • Assist in response coordination during material operational incidents and perform post-incident analysis / After-Action Reviews to strengthen future response capabilities.
  • Leverage Threat Intelligence resources to identify systemic themes or recurring vulnerabilities impacting the industry and escalate material risks through appropriate governance channels.
  • Ability to quickly consume and analyze emerging and current events that may impact operations across the firm.
