Full Job Description
As the Operational Performance Engineer, you will be responsible for collaboratively leading analysis and continual improvement of the business-related aspects of Water Treatment Operations Maintenance (WTOM). Primary duties include:
  • Provide analytical support to the Water Treatment manager, leaders, and supervisors regarding financial performance, budget preparation and spending trend analysis.
  • Provide experienced Project Management for performance improvement projects and initiatives, including working with external consultants as required to develop and complete specialized business improvement projects.
  • Manage the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) program for the Water Treatment division to continue to support and improve a culture of data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide ad-hoc engineering and analytical expertise to support WTOM, plant optimization, cross-divisional initiatives with other groups, as well as business process improvement and risk mitigation.
Qualifications
  • A degree in Engineering.
  • You must have at least 3-5 years of relevant professional engineering experience related to data analytics and visualization, business performance measurement, and project management obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work Click here for more details .
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel and Power BI are required.
  • Knowledge of asset maintenance best practices, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as IBM Maximo are all considered assets.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
  • A valid class 5 drivers license and use of a personal vehicle for occasional site visits is required.
  • Professional designations of Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant ( CMA), Project Management Professional ( PMP) are considered assets.
  • Success in this position requires demonstrated abilities in: problem solving and planning skills with attention to detail and accuracy; technical, financial and strategic analysis; complex data visualization via dashboards and reports; ability to evaluate the benefits, risks, and costs of implementing process improvements; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; dedication to customer service; strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
