Full Job Description
The Asset Management Technologist provides technical support and training related to asset management with an emphasis on providing these services to the sections within the Transit Service Systems. Primary duties include:

  • Work with Calgary Transit staff to achieve asset management requirements, strategies and objectives.
  • Understand and develop asset management plans for each asset type based on asset assessments and asset profile data gathering.
  • Utilize the asset management application or system to implement asset management best practices, ensure accuracy of data, implement work orders and run reports.
  • Provide first-level of response to staff and system end users regarding asset management inquiries or problems.
  • Support Calgary Transit, specifically the Transit Service Systems in all aspects of asset management including planning and analysis.
  • Train, coach, support and assist users in the effective use and functionality of the asset management system.
  • Troubleshoot asset management issues, develop user manuals/training material and efficiently maintain asset management system documentation.


Qualifications

  • A Journeyperson Certificate recognized by the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board or Inter-Provincial certificate seal with at least 5 years of related experience; OR
  • A completed 2 year technical diploma in asset management, technology, Engineering, buildings, Light Rail Transit systems or a related field with at least 3 years of experience.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, no current suspensions or charges pending.
  • Ability to obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit .
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Building Condition Assessments (BCA) is preferred.
  • Experience with asset management systems and procurement is an asset.
  • Success in this position requires strong customer service skills and effective communication skills to develop credibility with internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrate problem and analytical skills, strong attention to technical detail and the ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.
