Onsite Job: Equipment & Tool Engineer 2 | Everett, Washington, United States Onsite Job: Equipment & Tool Engineer 2 - Everett, WA

About the Role
Idotronix is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Equipment & Tool Engineer 2 to join our dynamic team supporting Commercial Airplanes in Everett, WA. This onsite, first-shift role (6:30 AM - 3:00 PM) places you at the heart of innovation, directly interfacing with production teams and equipment on the shop floor. You'll drive process improvements, safety, and efficiency, while collaborating with mechanics, engineers, and tool makers to deliver world-class aerospace solutions.

Responsibilities

- Investigate, develop, and implement equipment and tooling concepts to support aerospace product requirements
- Serve as a liaison for tool fabrication and production use, ensuring seamless operations
- Collect design requirements, participate in reviews, and create or revise technical drawings and models
- Draft specifications and purchase requests for new equipment and tooling acquisitions
- Ensure compliance with safety, maintainability, reliability, and regulatory requirements
- Develop documentation for equipment inspection, usage instructions, preventive maintenance, and user training
- Oversee project budgets and schedules to deliver timely, cost-effective tooling solutions
- Spend significant time on the production floor, including climbing, standing, and working in various environments with required PPE

Required Skills and Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or directly related field
- 1+ years of relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Regular, predictable onsite attendance and engagement with production activities

Preferred Skills

- 2+ years of experience in a production environment
- Pressure vessel design expertise; hands-on experience with ASME Section VIII, NBIC codes, piping codes (ASME B31.1/B31.3)
- Familiarity with pressure vessel fabrication, testing, and maintenance procedures
- Experience with non-destructive examination, welding procedures, and thermodynamics/fluid mechanics
- 3D modeling and GD&T proficiency
- Experience designing autoclaves and quick-acting closures
- Project management in a fast-paced, production-focused setting
