Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The Organizational Development + Learning (OD+L) Specialist plays a key role in advancing leadership capability, employee engagement, learning and organizational effectiveness across St. Joseph's Health System. Reporting to the Manager, Organizational Development + Learning and working closely with the Senior Organizational Development Consultants, the Specialist supports the planning, design, implementation, delivery and evaluation of initiatives that strengthen culture, enhance the employee experience, and build organizational capability.
Working collaboratively with leaders, subject matter experts and partners across the System, the Specialist contributes to both system-wide and site-specific programs and services related to leadership development, employee engagement, talent management, orientation, recognition, succession planning, performance development, and learning. Through consultation, facilitation, program management and data analysis, the Specialist helps identify organizational needs and develop solutions that support individual, team, and organizational success.
Responsibilities:- Support the planning, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of leadership, employee, and organizational development programs that improve employee engagement, leadership skills, and organizational effectiveness across St. Joseph's Health System.
- Design and deliver learning solutions, resources and communications using adult learning principles and best practices.
- Assess learning and development needs through research, feedback, and environmental scans to identify trends and opportunities.
- Coordinate employee engagement surveys and feedback processes, including communications, administration, analysis, reporting, and action planning. Use workforce data and employee feedback to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Support employee recognition and appreciation programs, including service awards, celebrations, external award nominations, and other engagement initiatives.
- Support the delivery and continuous improvement of orientation and onboarding programs while supporting consistent learning and development practices across the System.
- Coordinate learning and development activities, including scheduling, registrations, communications, attendance tracking, participant support, and maintaining the annual learning calendar.
- Work with leaders, colleagues, and subject matter experts to identify needs, provide guidance, and support Organizational Development and Learning priorities.
- Evaluate program effectiveness using participant feedback, attendance data, and organizational metrics. Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain learning and communication resources, such as presentations, guides, toolkits, job aids, digital content, and intranet materials.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Adult Education, Business, Psychology, Leadership Studies or a related discipline.
- Post-graduate education or certification in Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Adult Education, Leadership Development, Change Management, or Human Resources is considered an asset.
- Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience in Organizational Development, Learning & Development, Talent Management, Human Resources, Leadership Development or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated success designing, implementing, facilitating and evaluating learning, leadership development, employee engagement, organizational effectiveness and culture-related initiatives.
- Proven ability to consult and collaborate with leaders and subject matter experts to assess needs, develop solutions and support organizational priorities.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with experience delivering workshops, learning programs, and group discussions for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and present data to support program evaluation, continuous improvement and organizational decision-making.
- Experience working in a complex organizational environment, managing multiple priorities, and building effective relationships across a broad range of client groups.
- Experience supporting multi-site organizations, shared services models or healthcare environments is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a mission-driven organization while consistently embodying and promoting values of respect, compassion, inclusion, accountability, and collaboration.
- Ability to travel to all St. Joseph's Health System location, when required.
