Job Description:

Intel is looking for highly motivated individuals with strong technical background and capabilities to sustain, ramp, and transfer all technology nodes in Arizona. They will drive rapid continuous improvements in safety, quality, yield, reliability, cost, process stability/capability, and productivity while maintaining rigorous quality control.

Intel Foundry is increasing its investment in defect metrology technology, implementing a new Win It Inline initiative using advanced real-time monitoring to improve yield learning cycles. Investing in inline metrology will give engineers more data throughout the manufacturing process, as opposed to waiting for end of the line data - a fundamental shift in how we leverage data to build chips.

Role Overview: As a Yield System Development Engineer, with a software emphasis, you will play a critical role in optimizing and maintaining metrology systems for development and manufacturing. You will collaborate closely with equipment development, operations, automation, and manufacturing teams to enhance yield systems and ensure product integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform statistical analysis and develop visualizations to construct accurate process development roadmaps.

  • Develop methods and systems to analyze diverse big data sources, leading to yield modeling and process roadmap definition.

  • Develop and maintain systems that enable faster interpretation of fab process, defect, and electrical data to drive process changes for yield enhancement.

  • Apply statistics, machine learning, and coding techniques to extract insights from large volumes of data.

  • Transform experimental and manufacturing data into yield improvement actions.

  • Ensure manufacturability over process and product design through thorough analysis.

  • Execute new product introductions and participate in design of experiments.

  • Develop tools and algorithms for high-volume data analysis to identify yield limiters.

  • Harden equipment systems to meet operational needs for leading-edge logic nodes.

  • Develop AI/ML applications to improve patterning solutions and design efficiency.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure data integrity and implement custom algorithms.

Qualifications:

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years in Engineering or Science disciplines such as Software Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electrical, Applied Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering OR Master's degree or higher.

  • Experience with software coding (i.e. Python, C#/.NET, HTML, JavaScript etc.) with an emphasis in ML/AI.

  • Experience with statistical analysis and analytical methods.

  • Experience in application of domain knowledge to curate analysis-ready datasets.

  • 1+ years of experience in an advanced manufacturing environment (semiconductor device fabrication, packaging, or assembly, aerospace, pharmaceuticals, etc.)

  • At least two (2) of the following:

    • Working knowledge of source control tools (Git)

    • SQL proficiency (intermediate or better)

    • 2+ years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing automation systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship

  • Active or Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government TS/SCI Security Clearance with Polygraph.

  • Experience with high degree of customer service mindset and experience working with external and internal partners.

  • Experience in technical documentation, training, and project management.
