Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY:
To provide psychiatric care to the hospital's patients in conjunction with a supervising psychiatrist.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training:
• Masters Degree in Nursing
• Must have a psychiatric specialty.
Experience:
• At least one year inpatient psychiatric experience working with patients with needs similar to the patients served by the facility. 5 years preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
• Current Nurse Practitioner License.
• National Certification.
• Current North Carolina Driver's License
• Current CPR Certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider)
Knowledge and Skills:
• Knowledge of appropriate assessment and evaluation tools and tests, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.
• Knowledge of milieu management.
• Knowledge of acute adult, adolescent, and child psychological disorders
• Advanced knowledge of principles of abnormal psychology
• Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation.
• Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation.
