We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our team in our New Orleans, LAlocation.
Position DetailsThe Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is part of a multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive mental health care to patients living with chronic mental illness. The NP will work in collaboration with our psychiatrist and registered nurses to diagnose and manage patients' mental health concerns. The NP will provide services in the community and will ride along with another staff member to provide these services.
- Responsible for conducting psychiatric patient evaluations to determine medication needs, documenting evaluations and interactions with the patient in the electronic health record.
- Responsible for prescribing pharmacologic therapies including controlled substances, monitoring progress and making necessary changes to patients' medications.
- Facilitate direct patient admissions into hospitals when needed.
- Participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings to develop coordinated treatment plans.
