Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate Degree as Nurse Practitioner.
• Three years of clinical experience, preferably in oncology.
• Current California RN and NP licenses.
• California NP Furnishing License (to be obtained within 6 months).
• DEA certification (to be obtained within 6 months).
• National NP Board Certification by an accredited body.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification from American Heart Association.
• ACLS and PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the City of Hope nursing process in clinical practice.
• Manage direct medical care for a designated patient population under collaborative protocols.
• Perform physical exams and address patient care issues requiring medical intervention.
• Develop protocols and standardized procedures for Nurse Practitioners in the department.
• Help create systems for effective medical care and departmental operations.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams about patient information.
• Create and lead patient education and counseling activities.
• Contribute to performance improvement initiatives to assess care efficacy and departmental needs.
