Responsibilities

  • Assist Providers in assessing patient needs by reviewing medical records and collaborating with staff
  • Perform physical exams as per guidelines provided by supervising Physician
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests for patient assessment
  • Record findings and formulate care plans while coordinating with Physicians
  • Engage with patients and families to address concerns proactively
  • Maintain professional knowledge and complete necessary training in a timely manner

McLeod Regional Medical Center is seeking a Day Shift Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner!

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations:
  • A valid SC RN License as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) verified by the LLR.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner by approved accrediting agency.
  • Prescriptive privileges or are eligible to apply.


Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations
  1. Job responsibilities include those listed in competency document.
  2. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
  3. Assists Providers in assessing needs of patients based on data collected by reviewing electronic medical record, floor nursing staff & other MRMC staff involved in care delivery.
  4. Performs physical exams within prescribed guidelines & instructions of Physician.
  5. Orders, interprets & evaluates diagnostic tests to identify & assess patient's clinical problems & healthcare needs.
  6. Records physical findings, formulates care plan & discusses cases with Physician to provide comprehensive patient care plan.
  7. Speaks with patients & families to address any concerns when requested.
  8. Maintains professional clinical knowledge required for licensure & completes required training according to deadline.
