OverviewThe Nurse Manager of Special Procedures is responsible for the overall leadership and daily operations of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab), Interventional Radiology (IR), and Endoscopy departments. The Manager works closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and hospital leadership to ensure safe, high-quality patient care, efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and a positive patient experience. This position is responsible for staffing, budgeting, quality improvement, employee engagement, physician collaboration, and operational oversight of assigned departments. The Nurse Manager serves as a resource and leader for staff while supporting departmental and organizational goals.

Essential Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations
- Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight for Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, and
Endoscopy services.
- Ensure departments are appropriately staffed and operational needs are met.
- Monitor patient flow, room utilization, scheduling, first-case on-time starts, and
turnaround times.
- Address operational issues and work collaboratively with staff and physicians to improve
efficiency and patient care.
- Participate in departmental planning and support service growth initiatives.
Quality & Patient Safety
- Promote a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Monitor quality, patient satisfaction, and performance indicators and implement
improvement initiatives as needed.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, evidence-based practice standards,
accreditation requirements, and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain readiness for regulatory and accreditation surveys.
Staff Management
- Recruit, orient, mentor, and evaluate staff.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
- Complete performance evaluations and address employee performance concerns when necessary.
- Support employee engagement and recognition efforts. Physician & Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Develop positive working relationships with physicians and procedural providers.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and departmental performance.
- Serve as a liaison between physicians, staff, and hospital leadership.
Financial & Resource Management
- Assist with development and management of departmental budgets.
- Monitor productivity, staffing patterns, and department expenses.
- Work with Supply Chain and Finance to ensure appropriate utilization of supplies and resources.
- Participate in capital equipment planning and purchasing processes.
Performance Improvement
- Utilize department data and quality metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Lead and support quality improvement projects related to patient care, safety, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
- Promote best practices and evidence-based care across all procedural areas.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Master27s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Specialty certification related to leadership, cardiovascular nursing, endoscopy,
interventional radiology, or procedural services preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience in Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy, Perioperative Services, or a related procedural area.
- Minimum of two to three (3) years of leadership or management experience required.
- Demonstrated experience managing staff, physician relationships, and daily department operations.
- Experience with budgeting, quality improvement, productivity management, and regulatory compliance preferred.
- Experience with electronic medical records and healthcare information systems required.

Posted Salary RangeUSD $128,000.00 - USD $160,000.00 /Yr.
