Job DescriptionRN Manager, Orthopedics UnitProvidence St. Vincent Medical Center, Portland, OregonProvidence St. Vincent Medical Center is seeking an experienced and inspiring RN Manager to lead our 28-bed Orthopedics Unit in Portland, Oregon. This is a full-time day shift leadership opportunity with flexible scheduling, typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Eligible external candidates may receive a $10,000 hiring bonus when required qualifications and conditions for payment are met.
In this role, you will provide operational, clinical, and strategic leadership for a high-performing orthopedic service line, overseeing approximately 75-80 caregivers and partnering closely with an Assistant Nurse Manager and interdisciplinary leaders to drive excellence in patient outcomes, caregiver engagement, and operational performance.
About the Orthopedics UnitThe Orthopedics Unit is a
28-bed acute care medical/surgical telemetry unit that provides care for adult patients with acute and chronic medical conditions. Our patient population includes:
- Patients recovering from complex total joint replacement surgeries
- Patients admitted with fractures and orthopedic trauma
- Medical and surgical overflow patients
- Individuals requiring coordinated interdisciplinary care and rehabilitation planning

The Nurse Manager of Clinical Operations embraces a spirit of continual improvement and possesses a relentless drive towards excellence. They are accountable for the 24/7 operations of their defined unit(s). The Nurse Manager is accountable for the quality of care delivered and outcomes of areas under their leadership. Required Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Upon hire: Oregon Registered Nurse License
- Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
- 5 years of nursing experience with progressive leadership roles
Preferred Qualifications: - 5 or more years of leadership experience
- 5 or more years of inpatient RN work experience
- Master's degree in a related field
- Coursework/Training: Formal coursework in Management, Finance, and other administrative subjects
- Upon hire: National Certification from a recognized professional organization in a relevant field of clinical expertise
- Management experience
