Nuclear Millwright Superintendent

Position Overview
Looking to staff this position to support multiple Nuclear stations in the South and Northeast.

The Nuclear Millwright Superintendent provides leadership, direction, and technical expertise for all millwright operations within a nuclear facility environment. This role is responsible for supervising the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical equipment critical to safe and efficient nuclear plant operations. The superintendent ensures that all work complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies, while fostering a strong safety culture and facilitating team development within the nuclear services business.

Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and coordinate daily activities of nuclear millwright crews, ensuring alignment with project schedules, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Supervise the installation, alignment, maintenance, and repair of turbines, pumps, valves, compressors, and other complex mechanical equipment within a nuclear facility.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to plan and assign work.
• Conduct site inspections and audits to maintain adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines set forth by the NRC, OSHA, and other relevant agencies.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other craft supervisors to support outage work, plant upgrades, and emergency repairs.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and lead troubleshooting efforts to minimize downtime.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations for millwright personnel; foster skills development and team engagement.
• Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, safety incidents, and compliance records.
• Monitor inventory of parts, tools, and equipment; coordinate procurement and logistics as required.
• Participate in project planning meetings and contribute to job cost estimating and schedule development.

• Comply with all site access, background check, and fitness-for-duty requirements for nuclear facilities.
