Overview

ENERCON is seeking a Nuclear Chief Engineering Division Director to lead our Nuclear Engineering organization's technical analysis and engineering governance functions. This high-impact leadership role will provide strategic direction and oversight for our Subject Matter Expert and Specialty Engineering Analysis Teams, ensuring technical excellence, engineering consistency, innovation, and regulatory compliance across mechanical, structural, electrical, and fire protection disciplines supporting the nuclear industry (commercial nuclear, federal nuclear, and new nuclear).

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in a primary office location and one week of travel per month to our Kennesaw, GA home office. Primary office locations include:

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence: Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, and Fire Protection Chief Analysis Teams. Establish technical direction, maintain engineering standards, and ensure consistent execution of high-quality engineering products across all nuclear programs.
  • Engineering Governance & Operational Performance: Lead technical reviews, engineering oversight activities, and governance processes that support regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and risk management. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve efficiency, consistency, and technical rigor across the organization.
  • Client Engagement & Industry Leadership: Serve as a senior technical representative to commercial nuclear utilities, advanced reactor developers, regulatory agencies, and industry organizations. Support business development activities, proposal reviews, strategic pursuits, and client relationship management to grow ENERCON's nuclear engineering portfolio.
  • People Leadership & Talent Development: Lead and mentor a team of Chief Engineers, Discipline Leads, and technical subject matter experts across multiple office locations. Foster technical growth, succession planning, knowledge transfer, and professional development initiatives to strengthen organizational capability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Innovation: Partner with Engineering Directors, Project Directors, and Operations Leadership to ensure technical resources, engineering standards, and best practices support successful project execution. Champion innovation, digital engineering initiatives, and the advancement of nuclear technologies.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Nuclear, or related Engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; advanced technical certifications or graduate degree preferred.
  • 25+ years of engineering experience supporting commercial nuclear power generation, nuclear design, analysis, licensing, modifications, or plant operations.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience managing large (100+) size engineering organizations, technical programs, or discipline-specific engineering teams.
  • Experience serving in a Chief Engineer, Engineering Director, Engineering Senior Manager, or comparable senior technical leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one or more core engineering disciplines including Mechanical, Structural, Nuclear, Electrical or Controls Engineering, with working knowledge across all major nuclear engineering disciplines.
  • Strong understanding of NRC regulatory requirements, nuclear quality assurance programs, design control processes, and engineering governance frameworks.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple office locations and supporting large-scale nuclear projects.
  • Proven success influencing technical strategy, mentoring senior engineering talent, and driving organizational performance.
  • Strong communication, presentation, relationship management, and executive leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel overnight up to 25-40% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting operating nuclear plants, life extension projects, major capital projects, advanced reactor programs, or new nuclear deployment initiatives.
  • Recognized industry leadership through participation in EPRI, NEI, ASME, IEEE, NFPA, ANS, or other relevant industry organizations.


Compensation Range

USD $178,400.00 - USD $267,600.00 /Yr.
