Opportunity OverviewThe Integrated System Test team develops large highly complex electro-mechanical systems for quick market introduction, requiring agility from all NPI Operations team members. The NPI Manufacturing Engineering (MFE) manager will need to guide the MFE team on balancing agility-to-market and release-to-production deliverables.
MFE Manager responsibilities include standardizing Best Practices of the MFE team, developing team strategies for efficiency improvements, and developing careers of your team. The MFE team has several responsibilities, including but not limited to Design for Manufacturing reviews, Manufacturing Strategy and plans for electo-mechanical products, Pilot builds and Work instructions for assembly of new products, Product Change implementation and Transfer to Contract Manufacturers.
The ideal candidate will have experience in either managing a MFE team or having experience as a seasoned MFE. Both experiences need to include large electro-mechanical products.
Responsibilities include:- Setting strategies for working globally with contract manufacturers and suppliers to establish a manufacturing strategy, enabling builds for both short-term prototypes and long-term production. This includes team expectations for Manufacturing transfer from Teradyne to overseas contract manufacturers
- Assist team in establishing Design for Manufacturing guidelines as best practices across projects
- Team efficiency for supporting both builds and process documentation of highly complex electro-mechanical products, including fixtures.
- Establishing guidelines for Work Instructions, First-Article inspections, Deviations, Engineering Change Notice implementation and any Rework or defective material strategies
- Ensuring team best practices for resolving manufacturing defects on new products in order to drive process yield improvements.
- Conducting MFE resource capacity planning for product roadmap

- Bachelor's degree required.
- 8+ years of experience working with electro-mechanical products, including proficiency with CAD tools and familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC 7711/7721) and ISO standards.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly agile environment that demands strong attention to detail while maintaining a broad, strategic perspective to drive sourcing and planning improvements.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate across all levels of the organization.
- Experience in manufacturing large, complex electro-mechanical products.
- Proficiency with presentation software is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
- Demonstrated judgment in identifying and appropriately escalating issues when necessary.
- Team-oriented mindset with a high degree of flexibility and a commitment to achieving shared goals across functions.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% to Asia-based contract manufacturers.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and successfully implement change initiatives.

Compensation:The base salary range for this role is $129,200.00 -$207,900.00. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
