Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson is hiring for an NPI/LCM Engineer II fully on site in Irvine, CA

The NPI/LCM Engineer II will be responsible for working on problems and projects of low to moderate scope where analysis of situation or data requires a review of identifiable factors. The qualified candidate must exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine the appropriate action needed. The NPI/LCM Engineer II will be responsible for process engineering and improvements, yield improvements, mechanical and electrical assembly, troubleshooting where needed, and various other projects including but not limited to the testing and design of toolings, requirements, and validation protocols. The NPI/LCM Engineer II will be responsible for supporting design directions and modifications of system components.

Additional duties of this role would include writing/updating work instructions, part specifications, validation protocols, technical documents, and various forms of reports and correspondence. The NPI/LCM Engineer II will be dedicated to supporting new product development, NPD transfers and responsible for lifecycle engineering and improvement, yield improvement, mechanical and electrical assembly, troubleshooting where needed, and various other projects including but not limited to the testing and design of toolings, requirements, and validation protocols.

  • Receives assignments given in terms of NPD and Life Cycle Engineering projects plans and transfers.
  • Performs assignments designed to continue the development of professional work knowledge and abilities requiring application of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks.
  • Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.
  • Moderate exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Supervisor screens assignments for unusual or difficult problems and reviews techniques and procedures to be applied on non-routine work.
  • Receives general direction on new aspects of assignments.
  • Performs work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents.
  • Assignments usually include one or more of the following: Equipment design and development, Test of materials, Preparation of specification, Process study, Research investigations, Report preparation.
  • Other activities of limited scope requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in the specific narrow areas of assignments.
  • Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed

Experience/ Education
  • BS Engineering degree in relevant discipline
  • 2 - 4 years of related engineering experience
  • Experience in the medical device industry would be an asset.
  • Must possess a basic understanding of theoretical and practical fundamentals and experimental engineering techniques.
  • Ability to present presentations to upper management a plus.
  • Knowledge of drafting software systems such as AutoCad and Solidworks is required.
  • Spanish and Mandarin considered a plus.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$65,000.00 - $104,650.00

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave - 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave - 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave - 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave - 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off - 80 hours per calendar year
