NPD Electrical Engineering Team Leader Summary:
As NPD Electrical Engineering Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of Electrical engineers through the development, design and validation of new HVAC equipment. In this hands-on position, you will work within a cross-functional group on the development, design, building and validation of new products. You will be responsible for taking products from concept to customer with a focus on system and component integration, engineering design standards, manufacturing efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with, provide leadership on and approve electrical system design and component specification.
- Ensure team efficacy by delegating and supporting tasks as they relate to the design, validation and manufacturing of HVAC equipment spanning multiple projects.
- Facilitate collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Configuration, Equipment Controls and Lab Engineering teams.
- Research and evaluate products, parts and processes for performance, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Develop and lead processes for new product introduction as it relates to electrical system design and configuration.
- Participate in the development of test plans for new designs and support testing in an HVAC equipment testing laboratory.
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable standards and lead efforts to implement and improve internal design standards
- Analyze test results and pilot construction and assist in appropriate system design changes.
- Work with cross-functional team to develop and improve internal processes.
- Provide support for the manufacturing of prototype, assessment, and verification builds in a fully operational production facility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience leading a team of high-performance employees
- Proficiency in electrical system design and validation methods
- Experience in project planning and execution
- Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical or experience in other Electrical CAD software.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft products
- Strong hands-on/mechanical aptitude
- Above average verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Key Skills:
- Proficient with hand tools, gauges, multimeters, and other electrical testing equipment
- Experience receiving pertinent safety training (arc flash, lockout/tagout)
- Ability to perform tasks in an office, testing lab, or manufacturing environment
- Strong decision making, organizational and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to overcome unforeseen obstacles
- Ability to analyze different types of test data and apply real-world solutions
