Responsibilities:

General Purpose: Maintains 24 hour-a-day accountability for all patient care and nursing activities on assigned inpatient unit. Oversees and directs unit activities including standards development, human resource management, assessment of resource needs and utilization, staff development and communication within nursing practice as well as among other disciplines and departments. Oversees all performance improvement activities at the unit level and participates in committees at all levels within the institution.

Golisano Children's Hospital is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed Nurse Manager to co-lead the 68-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Newborn Nursery, the largest inpatient unit within the Children's Hospital. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical and leadership skills, excellent interpersonal communication, strategic problem-solving, and a clear vision for advancing nursing practice, quality, safety, staff engagement, and the patient and family experience. This individual must be results-driven, proactive, and able to continue the unit's forward momentum while collaborating closely with nursing, medical, and interdisciplinary leadership. Responsibilities include oversight of clinical operations, staffing and workforce development, human resource management, budget and resource management, implementation of evidence-based standards of care, and ongoing quality improvement. A minimum of 5 years of NICU nursing experience and 3 years of unit-based nursing leadership experience are required. BSN required; Master's degree in Nursing or a related field preferred and required within 5 years of appointment. Active NYS RN license required.
