News Producer-Morning (Regular Full-Time)

WTTG/WDCA - FOX 5 DC/FOX 5 Plus

Are you ready to produce compelling newscasts with one of the most respected local television stations in the nation's capital? FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is seeking an experienced, creative, and energetic News Producer to join our winning team.

As part of Fox Corporation and Fox Television stations, we deliver more hours of original programming than any other local station in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia market. You'll help shape stories that inform, engage, and inspire our community across broadcast, digital, and streaming platforms.

What You'll Do
  • Lead Daily Production: Responsible for all aspects of assigned newscasts - from story selection and editorial decisions to final delivery.
  • Create Compelling Content: Write, edit, and produce engaging stories and segments for broadcast and digital.
  • Coordinate Coverage: Work with the directors, assignment desk and editors, on-air staff, and field crews to manage live shots, visuals, and supporting materials.
  • Drive Digital Integration: Collaborate with digital and news teams to ensure stories reach audiences on all platforms.
  • Contribute Editorially: Participate in daily news and production meetings and help shape newsroom coverage strategies.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties. Reporting to the Executive Producer.


What We're Looking For
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field. 3+ years of experience in a medium-to-large market.
  • Editorial Judgment: Proven ability to identify, prioritize, and craft impactful stories with strong writing and storytelling skills.
  • Technical Expertise: Familiarity with newsroom computer systems, live production tools, and non-linear editing.
  • Organization & Problem Solving: Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines with sound decision-making.

To be considered for this premier opportunity, candidates must submit writing samples and a reel of recent production work. FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is a 24/7 news operation - flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays, and breaking news coverage is essential.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $94,000.00-97,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
