Weekly Working Hours: 240 hours per 6-week schedule

Job Details:

The Johns Hopkins Hospital-Meyer 3 Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Unit and Psychiatric Emergency Department is a high-intensity, 22-bed unit that provides care to adults with a wide range of psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, severe mental illnesses, and addictions. This role offers the unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in inpatient and emergency psychiatric settings, with most patients admitted through the dedicated psychiatry emergency department.

In this position, you'll begin training within the inpatient unit, building your expertise before cross-training to the psychiatric emergency department. Here, you'll deliver rapid evaluation, assessment, and treatment for a diverse population. You'll also play a vital role in supporting patients' recovery journeys, connecting those with addictions to specialized programs, and ensuring continuity of care for general psychiatric patients through community referrals. Additionally, you'll lead therapeutic groups, guiding patients toward stability and wellness. This is a dynamic role for someone passionate about making a difference in the field of mental health.

Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Nursing required
  • Applicants with an Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program may be considered, provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 4 years of hire
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
  • BLS CPR certification required
  • No RN work experience required; psych practicum and/or CNE/PCT experience preferred

Salary Range: Minimum 36.07/hour - Maximum 54.28/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
